While the Vision Statement sets the target, the Mission Statement Guides day-to-
day operations. The purpose of the Pottstown Area Taekwon-Do Association is to
positively impact the communities where we live and work. We do this by building
relationships, inspiring charity, and promoting goodwill both inside and outside the
local Dojangs.
We will:
- Maintain a proper martial arts brotherhood alliance with area Taekwon-Do
schools.
- Exchange ideas about each system/style.
- Provide support to regional Dojangs in Taekwon-Do serving a diverse group
of Taekwon-Do schools while maintaining excellence in standards
- To fully uphold and demonstrate the Tenets of Taekwon-Do
- Organize extracurricular activities which demonstrate the PATA philosophy
- Promote personal health: physical fitness, emotional and spiritual maturity
without advocating specific organizational or religious affiliations
- Offer martial arts, seminars and activities which complement the positive
attitude, respectfulness, and training ethics of Taekwon-Do which aid in
supporting Taekwon-Do as a martial art
- Provide an environment to assist schools in developing a higher quality
student through cooperation, resourcefulness and creativity
- Give a high priority to community involvement by showing equal attention to
each schools training, concern for individual accommodation, when possible,
and encourage family involvement creating a sound moral environment.
- Develop and maintain cohesiveness/cooperation among Black belts through
team-building activities, and maintain an ongoing link with Black belts who
are no longer active
- Support continuing education opportunities for Black belts to develop and
maintain the martial art and teaching skills
- Network with the community to educate the public on martial arts through
community involvement and service and support the ventures of the local
education systems.
