| Kocur's Kids Kick it In!!! A twist to their usual Holiday Celebration. Normally the children would exchange gifts with a special Christmas workout and ending with a visit from Santa. This year instead of exchanging gifts and with arrangements made by Mrs. Cindy Rathgub (a regular at Kocur's) the Children donated their money they would normally spend on gifts and donated it to the Bethany Childrens School in Womelsdorf, Pa. Together they raised over $300.00. What a great example of Community Service and what Taekwon-Do represents. |
| Dragon Star REALLY Wraps up Christmas !! At Christmas time I asked Mr B if Dragon Star could sponsor two kids at Deveureux foundation where my daughter was working for Christmas. There was a boy and a girl both teens...the girl was dropped off to the residential facility days before Christmas with no family to support her. When I proposed to our family at Dragon Star that we provide "Christmas" for these two kids the outpouring of support was beyond belief !! Not only did the school come together to provide a memorable Christmas for these two kids BUT they also came forward to provide Christmas dinner and a gift for each child in a family of ten on my caseload as a visiting nurse! The family couldn't afford electricity let alone Christmas for their children but they HAD a Christmas thanks to our friends and family at Dragon Star. THAT to me was what Christmas was about!! I am indebted to each and every person who supported these teens and family in need! I am truly honored to be part of this school !!!! Karen Spector |

Kocur's Taekwon-Do Woman's Club of Birdsboro Street Fair THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF BIRDSBORO will host its annual Street Fair and Waddlefest 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Mainbird Park, Main and Water streets. Miller-Keystone Blood Center will hold a blood drive during the fair. May 03, 2008 |
| Taekwon-Do Academy on the St Jude Strike-a-thon The 2008 St Jude Children's Hospital strike-a-thon went well. We began a bit earlier in the morning than planned because of the humid 95 degree forcast. Students of all ranks and ages focused on the task at hand and all completed the 2008 strikes within two and a half hours. Afterward we enjoyed a few minutes to relax together with some Rita's Blueberry Water Ice. Hopefully, the donations raised through this annual event will make a differance to those in need. |

| Please help Collegeville Reach! in our effort to provide Dialysis treatment to a local boy. Currently there is a 7 year old 2nd grader at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia needing a kidney transplant as soon as possible. To keep him alive while awaiting the transplant he needs 12 hrs a week of Dialysis. His family has no way of paying for this treatment. A local recycling plant has offered to pay for this treatment in exchange for bottle caps! For every 1000 plastic bottle caps (any kind of twist off version) collected, this company will pay for 1 hour of treatment. This offer expires in approximately one month. Want to help??? Please bring in and place all your bottle caps in the specially marked box! If we are able to collect 624,000 caps we could pay for several hours worth of treatment! | OUTREACH TO ALL TAEKWON_DO SCHOOLS 02/11/2010 As some of you may or may not know..we have been hit with some major snow here in the Philadelphia Area. As a result of the large amounts of snow, Ellixson’s TaeKwon-Do Academy at 125 East Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown has collapsed under the weight of the snow. No one was in the building at the time of collapse. At this time I have not been able to contact Mr. Ellixson by phone. I encourage all area TKD Schools to drop him a line and see what type of assistance he may require. This is the time to demonstrate our TKD unity. Thank All of you for your anticipated responses. |
