
Master Nicholls VIII first started his Tae Kwon-Do
training in 1971 and became European champion by the
time he was Eighteen (then III Degree Black Belt), on
the first of January 1983, Master Trevor Nicholls VIII,
(then IV Degree Black Belt) founded the Nicholls Tae
Kwon-Do Institute, established in England as the Imperial
Tae Kwon-Do Association.
Later in 1983 he then founded the Irish School of Tae
Kwon-Do, headed by Mr Thomas Carthy Third Degree
Black Belt, and in 1985, the Israeli School of Tae
Kwon-Do, headed by Mr Danny Roth Third Degree
Black Belt. Master Nicholls VIII already an Instructor of
high repute within the U.K.T.A. the British Association
for the International Tae Kwon-Do Federation (I.T.F.),
then decided to sacrifice his own material needs and to
defer his own career within the field of accountancy in
order to dedicate and devote himself entirely to the
N.T.I. At this time there was only one School based in
Rayners Lane of approximately 50 students. Currently
there is a Membership of approximately 2000 students
including the Schools from Ireland and Israel.
Master Nicholls was promoted to VIII Degree Master on
14th October 2004 (Pictured) by the I.T.F. and amongst
his many responsibilities still plays an enormous role in
both Ireland and Israel, still aiding in the instruction of
the Israeli Air Force using the many years experience
drawn from his own practice, teaching, research and
experience. Master Nicholls VIII is also currently
involved in close contact combat tuition for the world
wide renowned British Gurkha regiment.
