
Mr Michael Muleta has been promoted to VII Degree Black Belt and
Master by the International Taekwon-Do Federation.
Master Muleta's promotion was announced at the Banquet Evening
for the Imperial TKD (INO #2 )in London, England by Master Trevor
Nicholls VIII Degree Secretary General of the ITF.
Master Muleta is currently hosting and organizing the World Junior
ITF Championships in Australia in September this year.
He is currently the President, Executive Committee Chairman and
Director of Tournaments and Umpiring of United ITF Taekwon-Do
(Australia) Inc., the National Amalgamated Organization for the ITF
in Australia.
He is a qualified ITF examiner and International 'A' grade Umpire
and received his 6th Degree Black belt in 2002, having the honour
of being personally tested by some of the ITF's highest ranking
master and Grandmasters: Master Sereff (to 3rd degree),the late
Founder General Choi Hong Hi (to 4th Degree), ITF President,
Master Choi Jung Hwa (to 5th Degree) and Grandmaster Kong
Young Il & Panel (to 6th Degree).
In 2000, he was awarded the honoured Australian Sports Medal by
Australia's Prime Minister, on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, for his
lifetime contribution to Australian Sports, through his promotion of
ITF Taekwon-Do.
Mr. Muleta has been appointed the host and organizer of the ITF
Senior & Junior World Championships to be held in Melbourne,
Australia in 2006.

Australian Championships (1993, 1994, 1995, 1997), Victorian
Championships (1990, 1992, 1993), South Australian
Championships (1994), Tasmanian Championships (1997),
Western Victorian Championships (1993, 1994) as well as winning
silver/bronze medals at New Zealand Championships (1994),
Australian Championships (1992, 1995, 1997), NSW
Championships (1993), Victorian Championships (1990, 1991,
1994), Tasmanian Championships (1997)
Currently the President and Technical Director for all
Thoroughbred Taekwon-Do schools throughout Australia, and the
Examiner for St Monica's Taekwon-Do, Tong Il, Choong Moo and
Him Sen schools. In this role he is often called upon to give
seminars across a wide range of Taekwon-Do and Sports Science
topics.
He has also worked tirelessly over many years, as the Director of
Tournaments and Umpiring for the Australian National Governing
Body for ITF.
He represented Australia as it's Official Umpire at the ITF World
Championships in both Italy (2001) and Argentina (2002)
In 1994, Michael was highly honored within his local community by
being presented with a Civic Award by the Shire of Melton at the
Citizen of the Year awards, in recognition of for sporting
excellence, due to his achievements in ITF Taekwon-Do.
In 1997, He was also an assistant coach as well as a competitor in
Individual Patterns (4th Degree), Team Power, Special Techniques
and Sparring at the ITF World Championships in St Petersburg,
Russia.
He has been the Australian National Coach at ITF Junior World
Championships in both 1995 (Poland) and 1996 (Czech Republic),
and assisted in the preparation of the National team for 2002
(Argentina).
Also acting as Fitness consultant to the New Zealand National ITF
Senior team for the 1994 World Championships in Malaysia.
In 1998, Mr. Muleta spent several months in South Africa
conducting ITF and Self- Defense seminars across the country and
instructing members of the South African ITF World Championship
Team.
Under his tutelage, Thoroughbred Taekwon-Do students have had
unprecedented success including 14 representatives at 1995,
1996,1997, 2001 and 2002 ITF World Championships.
In his tireless work in the area of Taekwon-do National Promotions,
Michael has had a regular Taekwon-Do radio program, appeared
on television and in newspapers, and regularly writes for both
Australasian Taekwon-Do magazine and Blitz magazine.
In 1996, 1997 and again in 1998, he received the ultimate honour
from his peers, being nominated in the Blitz Hall of Fame awards
for ‘Taekwon-Do instructor of the year’.
In Spring 1997, Mr. Muleta featured on the front cover and the main
feature story of Australasian Taekwon-Do magazine. He will again
appear on the front cover of the December 2003 issue.
