All-Star TKD is a US-ITF/ITF affiliated school in Fairfield, NJ. Owner/head
instructor Mr. Nick Malefyt, 5th Degree Black Belt, has been training for more
than 25 years and is certified both nationally and internationally. The school
offers Taekwon-Do classes for both adults and children, as well as self-
defense courses, and children's birthday parties.

1980 Began Training at Eastern Martial Arts Academy (EMAA) under Master
Bruce Farkas, Taekwon-Do 7th Dan, and Mr. John Murphy, Guru of the Pekiti-
Tirsia system of Arnis
1986 Placed 3rd in sparring (Red Belt Division) at Henry S. Cho’s annual
tournament – at the time held at Madison Square Garden and one of the
largest “open” tournaments on the East Coast
1987 Attained First Dan Certification (EMAA)
1988 Placed 3rd in patterns and sparring, at the USTA’s Fall Championships
1989 Attained Second Dan Certification (EMAA)
1992 Placed 1st in patterns and 2nd in sparring at the New Jersey State
Taekwon-Do Championships.
Taught rape prevention classes at Seton Hall University.
Attained Third Dan Certification (EMAA)
1995 Attained Fourth Dan Certification (EMAA)
1996-2001 Before relocating to current residence, owned and operated Nick
Malefyt’s Taekwon-Do Academy, an ITF affiliated school, in Union, NJ.
Attended seminars with Grand Master Charles Sereff, Master Choi Jung Hwa,
and USITF President, Master Robert N. Wheatley.
1997 Won 2nd place in patterns in the UTA Fall Tournament
2003 Attended International Instructor’s Course, taught by Master Choi.
Attained ITF Fifth Dan (high test score) USA-5-1011
2005 Hosted Taekwon-do’s 50 Year Anniversary with ITF President,
Grandmaster Choi Jung Hwa. Over 200 participants from around the world
joined in the celebration held in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Opened All-Star Taekwon-Do.
2006 Won 1st Place in Patterns at Dragon Star’s annual tournament
